Finally caved and picked up a bottle of Cleansing Complex at Glowbar, where I’ve been going for monthly facials—I’m a member—since January. They provide a giant pump bottle of this cleanser at their DIY face washing station (aka double sink), and each time I’ve used it, I’ve marveled at its gentle herbaceous smell, its charmingly anochronistic medispa branding, and—most of all—its incredibly plush feel. I don’t know how else to describe it—it’s a soft, jelly-like clear gel. Once lathered in your palms, it turns into a soft & slippery foam that glides gently over my face and neck, leaving a clean but not stripped feeling.
This is temporarily replacing my beloved COSRX Good Morning Low PH gel cleanser, which both Raf and I have been using for years and is nearly 4x cheaper, but I’ve gotten bored of and isn’t nearly as enjoyable to use as the Cleansing Complex. Temporarily because I want to finish the 6 ounce bottle before re-assessing whether I truly loved it enough to keep dropping $40 on something that gets washed down the drain. Then again, call me a hypocrite because we are already committed to Aesop hand soap!
